Senior Manager, Community Engagement - Job Summary
Lead the development and implementation of community engagement and behavior change strategies for safe water programs in India, coordinating with teams and partners to ensure program alignment and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement community engagement strategy for India Safe Water program across states and expansions.
- Develop and execute behavior change campaigns tailored to rural and semi-urban contexts.
- Lead advocacy efforts integrating communication frameworks into Ministry initiatives.
- Collaborate with communications teams and external partners to adapt approaches using program data.
- Engage with local governance and community stakeholders to strengthen program adoption.
- Improve community engagement processes through data-driven monitoring and iteration.
- Manage Implementation Support Agencies and external consultants to ensure contractual compliance and high-quality execution.
- Identify and engage additional vendors for communications and behavior change expertise.
- Coordinate manpower planning and build internal capacity through training and tools development.
- Support government requests and stakeholder engagement for effective strategy rollout.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, humanities, social work or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible experience in management, project handling, or consulting.
- At least 5 years of community engagement experience in rural/village contexts in India, including team leadership across multiple geographies.
- Strong project management and organizational skills managing multiple complex projects.
- Ability to analyze complex data and present findings professionally.
- Willingness to travel to rural areas up to 25% of the time.
- Proactive, self-directed, and capable of taking initiative in dynamic environments.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, humanities, social work or a related field
