Community Manager - Job Summary

The Community Manager will lead communication strategies for the launch of the next generation of the flagship game YoWorld, managing player sentiment and building a thriving community during a major platform migration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Craft and execute communication strategies related to platform migration and launch.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product teams on launch campaigns and promotional initiatives.
  • Monitor community feedback and proactively manage player sentiment.
  • Own and engage the YoWorld Discord server, shifting focus from legacy forums to real-time engagement.
  • Create content including blog posts, newsletters, patch notes, and social media assets.
  • Facilitate in-game events spanning old and new platforms to encourage player participation.
  • Serve as the player voice in internal meetings by gathering and relaying feedback to Product Owners.
  • Work with Customer Support to develop FAQs and templates ensuring consistent messaging.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of community management experience in the gaming industry.
  • Ability to work from Toronto office 3-4 days per week.
  • Experience with game launch, major patch, or platform migration community management.
  • Expertise in Discord community architecture, bots, roles, and safety tools.
  • Strong crisis communication skills with high emotional intelligence.
  • Marketing knowledge to drive community channel conversions.
  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to match the brand voice.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Data literacy for analyzing community sentiment and reporting trends.
